Kazakhstan's Begazy archaeological site is dated Xll-VIII centuries BC
Begazy archaeological site is located in Kazakhstan’s Karagandy region. It is one of the biggest physical remains of the Begazy-Dandybai period dated from the 2nd millennium to the 8th century BC. The archaeological site in Karaganda is dated the Xll-VIII centuries BC.
The site has recently entered the list of one hundred sacral places of Kazakhstan, Kazakh-TV reports. It is also included in the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The mausoleum was discovered in the 1940s. The burial ground of Begazy covers an area of 10,000 hectares.
