Equestrian tourism in Kazakhstan
Equestrian tourism emerged in the 1950s in Europe. This type of tourism is focused on coming into contact with horses, taking an opportunity to enjoy horse-riding and nature.
For Kazakhstan equestrian tourism is a new trend. A unique horse expedition titled ‘Kielі Kazakhstan’ is a new tour offered to tourists. The tour is designed for ten days. As part of the first expedition, a team of famous travelers, bloggers and journalists, will go on a tour to the Akmola, Karagandy and Pavlodar regions on horses. They will visit two picturesque national parks: Buiratau and Bayanaul. Horse riders will travel 50-60 kilometers a day with a stop in nearby villages. Based on the results of the expedition, the travelers will develop some of the most optimal routes for equestrian tourism in the country.
‘Equestrian routes and tourism are very popular in the world. After the completion of the expedition, all the results will be sent to the business community to attract investors, so the project can be monetized in the future,’ Kairat Sadvakasov, deputy head of Kazakh Tourism told Kazakh TV.
On June 29th, the participants will arrive at the final destination of the route, Lake Zhasybai in the Pavlodar region. The project authors say the expedition will be of great importance in reviving equestrianism and promoting as Kazakhstan as an attractive tourism destination.
