Ski resort “Shymbulak” updated its schedule due to the preparation for the 28th World Winter Universiade 2017 that will take place in Kazakhstan from January 29 to February 8. Several ski tracks will be closed starting from January 9.
Following ski trails will be closed: “Kombi1”: “Professor”, “Aziada”, “Tube”, “Field of Dreams”, “Olympic”, “Terrace.” The trails that will operate normally include “Left Talgar,” “Kombi2”, “Travelator”.
It is noted that the cable car “Kombi1” will operate normally for hikers as well as for skiers to ascend and descend. Due to the closed ski tracks, the resort will provide to all visitors discounts of up to 30 percent on all day tickets with the purchase at the box office, as well as an additional 30 percent discount on already reduced prices with online payment on shymbulak.com or Homebank.kz. The discounts will be effective till the end of the Winter Universiade.
“The sale of the weekly tickets is also suspended. Storage lockers can be rented for one day only, because they will be handed over to the athletes during their competition,” – said the representative of the resort.
Shymbulak will hold competitions in the following disciplines of the Universiade-2017: slalom, parallel slalom, giant slalom, parallel giant slalom, super-giant combination (super giant slalom), ski cross, snowboard cross, slopestyle, dual moguls.
