A View from the Top: Astana’s New Double Decker Bus Tours

There is no doubt that Astana is growing as a wonderful place for tourism, especially with EXPO 2017 right around the corner. With increasing interest in the city, the people of Astana have been making strides to improve the tourism industry by building more hotels and offering new attractions. One new attraction, which we are excited to hear about, is the Astana Sightseeing Tours Co. hop-on, hop-off double-decker bus tour!

Now, visitors in Astana can view the city from a unique perspective and learn about the history and culture of the area from these cool new tours. As Kazakhstan attracts tourists from all over the world, these tours are offered in Kazakh, English, Russian, and Chinese.

The tours take place along a closed route on the left bank of the Yessil River. The route is a little more than 20 km and the tour lasts 90 minutes. In addition to the 90-minute tour, guests can utilize their tickets for 24 hours for hop-on, hop-off service. This allows visitors to sightsee, shop, and visit museums and major attractions as they please.

Tours depart at 10 a.m. from three major attractions: Duman Entertainment Center, Khan Shatyr Shopping Mall, and the Baiterek Monument. Tickets can be purchased at any of these places. During the week, tours take place from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will last until 11 p.m.

Tickets for this attraction cost 3,000 tenge ($9) for adults, 2,000 tenge ($6) for students and seniors, and 1,000 tenge ($3) for children ages 6-14. Children under 5, journalists, and those with physical challenges travel for free.
